2024 Workshop on International Humanitarian Response and Innovative Development in Safety and Emergency Industry Concludes in Shenzhen, China

On January 27, the 2024 Workshop on International Humanitarian Response and Innovation in the Safety and Emergency Industry was held in Nanshan District, Shenzhen. The event brought together over 90 experts from academia, think tanks, foundations, social service organizations, and safety emergency enterprises across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Professor Qiang Zhang from the Innovation Center for Risk Governance at Beijing Normal University provided an overview of the workshop’s background, highlighting the need to explore effective strategies for enhancing global humanitarian emergency response through technological innovation. He emphasized the importance of integrating these advancements with international humanitarian sustainable development strategies.

Mr. Giuseppe Saba, CEO of Dubai Humanitarian, introduced the organization and expressed a strong interest in collaborating with Chinese enterprises. Ms. Xiaoning Chen, Principle Investigator for International Humanitarian, Institute of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, analyzed global humanitarian challenges and China’s response strategies. Ms. Lili Qiu, Founder of Peaceland Foundation, and Mr. Xin Shi, President of the Shenzhen Rescue Volunteers Federation, shared their practical experiences in international humanitarian and disaster response efforts. Mr. Xiaohao Zhang, a representative from the Xinxing Cathay International Group Co., Ltd, along with other corporate representatives, discussed the development of China's safety emergency industry, presenting innovative achievements and successful case studies.

On January 28, the Dubai delegation visited Shenzhen-based companies such as Genew Technologies, Amoul Tech, and Hello Tech, offering high praise for the advancements in China’s safety emergency industry. The workshop significantly contributed to strengthening China’s safety emergency industry system and fostering international exchanges and cooperation in the field.
