Peaceland Foundation Hosts Second Capacity Building Training for Civilian Rescue Personnel in Thailand

Date: 22 December, 2023

Building on the success of the June 2023 training session, Peaceland Foundation, in partnership with the Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai and Guangming Foundation, organized a second capacity-building training session for civilian rescue personnel in northern Thailand. This training focused on vehicle accident rescue techniques in response to the high incidence of traffic accidents in the region, with the goal of strengthening local rescue organizations' emergency response capabilities and enhancing tourism safety.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Consul General Yang Jiong of the Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai, Mae Sai Mayor Chaiyond Sri Sa Mut, and Guangming Foundation Chairman Fu Jinrong. The training was led by Captain Li Shuo of the Peaceland Rescue Team, an expert in vehicle rescue operations who also took part in the 2018 Tham Luang cave rescue.

The training covered topics such as traffic accident rescue procedures, risk assessment, hazard mitigation, vehicle stabilization and extraction techniques, basic medical knowledge, and patient assessment and transportation skills. At the closing ceremony, Mr. Phinij Jarusombat, former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Chairman of the Thai-China Cultural Promotion Association, presented certificates to the participants.

Additionally, Peaceland Foundation donated professional rescue equipment valued at 130,000 RMB to local organizations, including hydraulic spreaders and cutters, to enhance their rescue capabilities. Peaceland remains committed to strengthening its cooperation with Thailand and continuing efforts to address shared challenges.
