Sharing Session on China's NGO International Humanitarian Work Held in Paris

On December 15, 2023, the Sharing Session on China's NGO International Humanitarian Work took place at the European Times Cultural Center in Paris. Organized by China Development Brief and co-hosted by the Peaceland Foundation, the event received strong support from institutions like the German World Food Programme. It drew participants from UN agencies, international organizations, Chinese expatriates, students, and members of the public.

Mr. Tingyu Wang, Chairman of China Development Brief, delivered a video message emphasizing the role and growth of Chinese NGOs in international humanitarian efforts. Mr. Gengrui Zhang, Vice Chairman, expressed gratitude for the support received and anticipated increased engagement of Chinese NGOs with overseas Chinese communities to further international humanitarian work. Ms. Xi Liu and Ms. Jing Wang, representatives from Peaceland Foundation, presented Peaceland’s humanitarian projects and initiatives.

The event featured screenings of nine documentaries highlighting different aspects of Chinese NGOs' international humanitarian work, including wildlife protection in Zimbabwe, demining efforts in Cambodia, and water well projects in Ethiopia. These documentaries showcased the contributions and challenges faced by Chinese volunteers in their global humanitarian efforts.

Attendees expressed optimism that the event would serve as a catalyst for advancing international humanitarian work. After the event, the Chinese NGO delegation visited the European Times Cultural Center for further exchange and discussion.
