Peaceland Foundation Participates in the 7th International Volunteer Day CERTs Challenge and Conducts Training Exchange

Date: 12 December, 2023

From December 3 to 12, 2023, Peaceland Foundation dispatched a team of 10 rescue personnel and volunteers to Pakistan at the invitation of the Punjab Emergency Services Department (Rescue 1122). The delegation took part in the 7th International Volunteer Day CERTs Challenge, held in Lahore by Rescue 1122.

The Challenge featured 58 volunteer rescue teams from across Pakistan competing in four key areas: pre-hospital emergency medical care, earthquake search and rescue, basic firefighting response, and flood rescue operations. As the only international team, Peaceland Foundation garnered significant attention. Following the competition, the Governor of Punjab, Mr. Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman, presented the team with a Special Participation Award.

Beyond the competition, Peaceland Foundation conducted training sessions on helicopter rescue and water rescue techniques for representatives from 23 firefighting units of the Rescue 1122. Peaceland also donated water rescue equipment to support regular training and rescue missions. The exchange was highly praised by the Rescue 1122 and the participating rescue personnel, laying a solid foundation for ongoing collaboration in humanitarian emergency response between the two sides.
