Date: 18 October, 2023

On October 18, 2023, the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation hosted a thematic forum on "People-to-People Connectivity" in Beijing. Peaceland Foundation was invited to present its work in international humanitarian aid through the stage play "Hand in Hand to Create a Peace Land", which highlighted its demining project in Cambodia and received widespread acclaim from attendees.

During the forum, representatives from various countries endorsed the "Silk Road Heart-to-Heart" joint initiative and outlined plans to implement 120 practical projects in the coming years to ensure that the Belt and Road Initiative benefits people across participating nations. Mr. Ke Wang, Chairman of Peaceland Foundation, introduced the Foundation's civilian maritime medical rescue ship project during the outcome announcement.

The 5,000-ton medical rescue vessel, the first large-scale public welfare vessel from China, is expected to be launched in the second half of 2025. It will carry volunteer doctors and rescue teams to provide free medical services and disaster response training in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, enhancing local disaster response capabilities. Equipped with relief supplies, medical equipment, an operating room, and outpatient departments, the ship will significantly improve the efficiency of humanitarian rescue operations. As a civil society organization, Peaceland Foundation will continue to play an active role in humanitarian aid and international cooperation, benefiting more people in need.
