In 2018, Peaceland Foundation participated in the rescue operation of the Thai youth football team trapped in a cave and was awarded the prestigious Dregunabhorn Medal by the Thai government. To mark the fifth anniversary of the rescue, Peaceland Foundation, in collaboration with the Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai and the Guangming Foundation, organized the "Northern Thailand Civil Rescue Capacity Building Training Program."
On June 29, 2023, Peaceland’s instructor team arrived in Chiang Rai and visited the rescue site—Tham Luang Cave. From July 1 to 3, the training program was held in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai, with more than 20 civilian rescue personnel from various parts of northern Thailand participating. The training focused on rope rescue theories and practical skills tailored to the unique terrain of northern Thailand, aiming to enhance local rescue teams’ emergency response and safety capabilities.
The program received strong support from the local government, paving the way for future collaboration. Notably, one of the boys rescued during the 2018 operation, now a member of a rescue team, participated in the training, embodying the lasting spirit of humanitarian aid.
