Peaceland Foundation Participates in 2023 ICVA Membership Day and Annual Conference

As a newly inducted member of the International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA), Peaceland Foundation was invited to participate in the 2023 ICVA Membership Day and Annual Conference held in Geneva. ICVA is a global network of NGOs dedicated to making humanitarian action more principled and effective worldwide.

On March 16, the Membership Day marked ICVA's first in-person event since the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on the opportunities and challenges within humanitarian aid work. The Annual Conference on March 17 centered on the theme The right time and the right place: Improving access to humanitarian quality funding”. Discussions explored critical issues like the challenges in humanitarian financing, the future of Grand Bargain negotiations, the state of localization efforts, and integrating climate action into funding strategies. The event featured key figures, including Ambassador Jürg Lauber, Switzerlands Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Kelly Clements, Deputy High Commissioner for UNHCR, and Matt Nims, Deputy Assistant Administrator for USAIDs Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, among others.

Tina Liu, Director of the International Development Department at Peaceland Foundation, attended the meetings and held in-depth discussions with ICVA Executive Director Ignacio Parker and representatives from other organizations. As a Chinese member, Peaceland Foundation seeks to deepen its integration into international humanitarian efforts and contribute a Chinese perspective to the collaborative and transformative initiatives within the global network.
