Round Table Discussion—— Chinese NGOs’ Humanitarian Assistance in Afghanistan: Practices and Challenges

Afghanistan faces an ongoing humanitarian crisis and is confronted with years of conflict and severe natural disasters, such as drought and earthquake. Around 24.4 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance, among which around 80% people are experiencing a crisis of food insecurity and more than one half of the children are experiencing malnutrition. Since 2021, people in Afghanistan have faced new political environment.

Under such circumstances, some Chinese NGOs have already taken actions to respond the crisis. How can Chinese NGOs participate in humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan? What are the ways of Chinese NGOs in delivering humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan? How to better work with NGO communities to provide assistance in Afghanistan? To share lessons for better support Afghanistan, we hold this round table discussion to exchange ideas and learn from each other.
