Peaceland Foundation Participates in the Dubai International Humanitarian Conference

From April 23 to 25, 2024, Peaceland Foundation was invited to the 20th Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition (DIHAD) in Dubai. This major international event brought together over 16,000 representatives from 154 countries to explore humanitarian diplomacy and future directions for aid and development.

The conference covered crucial topics such as meeting basic needs, personal safety, climate change, population migration, and global health, with a particular emphasis on the roles of women and youth in advancing humanitarian efforts. Mr. Gilles Michaud, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Safety and Security, delivered the keynote address, underscoring the vital need for safe and reliable humanitarian aid delivery amidst growing global risks. Other key speakers included Mr. Maxwell Sibhensana, Deputy Director of Operations and Resources at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and Mr. Fabrizio Carboni, Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

During the event, Peaceland Foundation engaged deeply with key stakeholders in the global humanitarian sector, sharing experiences and exploring potential collaborations. Peaceland also participated in the 20th anniversary celebration of Dubai Humanitarian and held a bilateral meeting with their team to discuss future cooperation and development. The Dubai Humanitarian team highlighted the critical role of procurement in humanitarian efforts and expressed a strong interest in partnering with China’s industry and advanced technology sectors. All participating Chinese organizations reaffirmed their commitment to supporting global humanitarian causes.
